Aleksandra and Marcin, the company's founders, developed a passion-for-fashion while studying Economics in Padova, Italy. While Padova is renowned for being one of the first universities in the world dating back to 1222, the Italian region of Veneto is home to several prestigious luxury fashion brands, particularly in the realm of high-quality accessories and craftsmanship. Whenever Aleksandra and Marcin had a spare moment between classes, they sought out local artisans and delved into their secrets of craftsmanship.

Upon returning to their hometown of Lodz, Poland, known for its enduring presence in the textile industry since the 19th century, Aleksandra and Marcin transformed their newly acquired knowledge into a fashion accessories startup. They named their company Cat & Cat as cats are known for their unique personalities and expressions. Similarly, the fashion accessories envisioned by Aleksandra and Marcin aimed at allowing their clientele to express themselves through their clothing choices, reflecting their personality, tastes, and style preferences.
