HOW TO CARE FOR SILK

STAIN REMOVAL

(WE DO NOT RECOMMEND SPOT CLEANING STAINS. IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, USE THE FOLLOWING TIPS)

1. To gently blot the stain, use a clean white cloth. Dab the stain carefully. Do not rub or scrub it – this may damage the fabric.

2. If the stain is caused by food or drink, mix cold water with a small amount of detergent (preferably one designed for silk) and gently dab the stained area. Do not use too much water, as it may leave a watermark on the fabric. If such a mark appears, once dry, try to rub it off gently with a clean, dry, white cotton cloth.

3. After cleaning the stain, rinse the fabric with cold water to remove any detergent residue and leave it to dry. Avoid dryers and warm air – they can damage the fabric.

HAND WASHING

1. Prepare a bowl of lukewarm water and add a small amount of silk detergent. Gently swirl the garment in the water. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing.

2. Pour out the soapy water, refill the bowl with clean water, and gently swirl the garment again to remove any foam.

3. Do not wring silk fabric to remove excess water – this may damage its delicate fibers. Instead, gently press out the water by wrapping the garment in a clean towel.

4. Lay the silk fabric flat on a towel or drying rack, reshape it, and leave it to dry. Avoid hanging it on a hanger for long periods, as this may stretch or distort the fabric.

MACHINE WASHING

1. Before washing a soiled fabric, gently dab the stained area with a clean cloth and a little silk detergent – scrubbing too hard may cause color loss.

2. Use a delicate detergent designed for silk. If possible, select a washing program for silk (lowest possible spin cycle, 30°C). To protect the fabric from friction and stretching, place it in a mesh laundry bag or a pillowcase.

3. Ensure the fabric is thoroughly rinsed. Avoid tumble dryers – high heat can shrink or damage the fabric. Instead, gently press out excess water by wrapping the garment in a clean towel

4. Lay the silk fabric flat on a towel or drying rack, reshape it, and leave it to dry. Avoid hanging it on a hanger for long periods, as this may stretch or distort the fabric.
